St. Francis Medical Center Visiting Hours

Visits by family members and friends are encouraged.

General Guidelines for Visitors

  • Visitors need to obtain a Visitor Pass at an Information Desk.
  • Visitors with colds, sore throats or any contagious diseases should NOT visit patients.
  • Visits should be kept short.
  • Visitors should be respectful of other patients by not making unnecessary noise or causing distractions.
  • St. Francis Medical Center is a smoke-free campus.  Smoking is not permitted in the hospital or outside on the campus.
  • Visiting Hours are subject to change to accommodate patient care needs or in the event of special circumstances.

Family Life Center (Maternity Center, Labor and Delivery, and Antepartum

Maternity Center

  • 10:30 AM – 2:00 PM and 4:00 – 8:30 PM.
  • 2:00 – 4:00 PM
    This is a time of restorative rest for moms and babies.  We ask that family and friends (except for the mom’s partner) refrain from visiting during these hours.
  • One loved-one is allowed to stay at all times (must be at least 18 years of age to stay overnight).
  • Up to four visitors are allowed at a time.

Labor and Delivery and Antepartum

  • 24/7 visitation.
  • Up to three visitors are allowed at a time.
  • Visitors must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Compassionate Care is taken into consideration for Antepartum patients admitted for an extended period of time. During this time, the patient’s own children who are under the age of 18 may be permitted to visit.

Pediatrics: Patient Tower 4th Floor

  • 10:30 AM – 8:30 PM
  • All ages are welcome.
  • One parent may stay overnight with their child.

Skilled Nursing Facility

  • 10:30 AM – 8:30 PM
  • Only four visitors are allowed at a time.
  • Visitors may be asked to step out of the room in order for the nurse to care for your loved one. A waiting area is located next to the elevators.

Intensive Care Units

  • Visitation is open for loved ones 18 years and older, and only restricted during the change of shift hours (6:00 - 8:00 AM and 6:00 - 8:00 PM) to ensure proper and uninterrupted hand off for patient safety purposes.
  • Children are welcome to remain in the ICU waiting area, but they must be under adult supervision at all times.
  • All visitors must request entrance to the unit using the telephone or speaking with the security officer in the waiting area. This will insure that the patient is medically stable for visitors.

Telemetry Unit: 6th floor

  • 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
  • For children under 12, please coordinate their visit with the nurse.
  • Visitors may be asked to step out of the room in order for the nurse to care for your loved one. A waiting area is located next to the elevators.

Acute Care Units: 2 East- 2nd Floor Progressive Care Unit, 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th Floors

  • 10:30 AM – 8:30 PM
  • The number of visitors at any one time may be limited, in consideration of patient care, space, and other patients.
  • For children under 12, please coordinate their visit with the nurse.

Behavioral Health

  • Monday - Friday | 3:00 – 4:00 PM and 8:00 – 9:00 PM
  • Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays | 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 8:00 – 9:00 PM
  • Up to two visitors per patient are welcomed at a time. Any visits outside of the posted visiting hours, or visits with more than two visitors at a time, can be arranged with doctor approval.
